Greg Davis was born and raised in Philadelphia, but he found his home at JSC.
He came to Johnson after meeting fellow Philly native and Johnson State graduate Miles Smith (Johnson’s assistant director of athletics and head men’s basketball coach) at a college fair. Enticed by the safe, rural environment of JSC and the growth in Johnson’s athletics program, Greg came for a visit and was sold.
When it comes to sports and rec at JSC, it’s hard to name a role Greg hasn’t played: Manager and point guard for the men’s basketball team. Member of the varsity men’s cross country, golf, tennis, soccer, and track and field teams. Vice president and president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Coordinator of JSC’s annual Special Olympics and “Wheelchair Veterans” basketball games.
Greg says he couldn’t be happier he chose Johnson. “Johnson State is one big family — and not just among students, but with the professors, coaches, alumni and staff,” he says. “I’m proud to be a JSC Badger and always will be. I’m a Badger for life.”
