The Johnson State College Wellness Center is staffed by a staff assistant, a director of Counseling, two part-time professional counselors and four graduate student counseling interns. All services provided at the Wellness center are free to all enrolled JSC students.
For medical-related needs, the staff assistant will provide guidance and support for students who need to schedule non-emergent medical services at a local off-campus healthcare facility. The College has partnered with Community Health Service of Lamoille Valley (CHSLV) to provide health care services to our students. This service includes priority appointments Monday through Friday from 1-4 p.m. The College will provide round-trip transportation to Morrisville Family Health Services (MFHS) facility, which is located in Morrisville, approximately eight miles from campus, for students during these hours.
The Wellness Center offers students a safe and confidential place for self-exploration and personal growth. Individual, couples and group counseling services are available. Services also include referrals to community resources, presentations/workshops, campus-wide mental-health screenings and mental-health crisis assistance. You can learn more about JSC counseling services here.
