April 15, 2016
The Lamoille Family Center, Laraway Youth & Family Services and Johnson State College’s Program Planning Board will host a screening of the film ‘Paper Tigers’ at 6 p.m. Monday, April 25, in 207 Bentley Hall on the JSC campus.
A facilitated question-and-answer session and light refreshments will follow the screening. The event is free and open to the public.
‘Paper Tigers’ is an intimate look into the lives of students at Lincoln High School, an alternative school that specializes in educating traumatized youth. Set amid the rural community of Walla Walla, Wash., the film intimately examines the inspiring promise of “trauma-informed communities,” a movement that is showing great promise in healing youth struggling with the dark legacy of what are called “adverse childhood experiences.”
