Johnson State College’s Chamber Singers head out on a concert tour in April, returning for a welcome-back performance in Vermont at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 12, at St. John in the Mountains Episcopal Church, 1994 Mountain Road in Stowe.
Conducted by Bethany Plissey, assistant professor and chair of performing arts, and accompanied by Timothy Saeed, visiting assistant professor of performing arts, the singers will perform works by Ravel, Monteverdi, Debussy, Finzi, Mäntyjärvi and Pärt.
Additional concerts include:
Wednesday, April 8, 7:30 p.m. at Dalton Congregational Church, Route 135, Dalton, N.H. The concert will include the Whitefield School Senior Chorus, directed by Jennie St. Martin.
Thursday, April 9, 7 p.m. at Murdock Middle School, 3 Memorial Drive, Winchendon, Mass.
Friday, April 10, 7 p.m. at Christ Congregational Church, 1350 Pleasant St., Brockton, Mass.
The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations at the Stowe concert will benefit the St. John’s Fund for Children, which serves children from Laraway Youth & Family Services and elsewhere in Lamoille County.
