Johnson State College presents an evening with Joe Sousa and Taylor Urruela, from the PBS series Coming Back with Wes Moore, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in 207 Bentley Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The three-episode series, which originally aired on PBS last spring, tells the story of best-selling author and combat veteran Wes Moore’s search for answers to some of the most difficult questions related to returning from war.
Moore’s journey takes him into the personal lives of different soldiers – including Urruela, an Iraq war veteran – as they attempt to reintegrate back into society and establish new identities.
In his JSC talk, Urruela will discuss his experience returning from war as an amputee and adjusting to life at home, including pursuing his love for competitive sports. Sousa will join him as producer of the series.
