This well-known source is valuable for locating objective and accurate information on current topics. Each issue contains background information, charts, graphs, a chronology of events, pros and cons, and a list of resources for further investigation.

Education Full Text*
Limit searches of the education literature to peer reviewed or full text articles. Over 500 titles are indexed in this source, with full text coverage beginning in 1996.

Encyclopedia Britannica*
The authoritative resource is now available on the Web.

ERIC*
The Education Resources Information Center remains an essential source for education research. Although several enhancements have improved the "free" version of ERIC on the Web, we think the features of our subscription-based ERIC will streamline access to journals as well as documents in full text. Expanded Academic ASAP*
Over 3000 periodicals are indexed; about two thirds are available in full text or full content. Coverage of titles in the humanities, social sciences and sciences is extensive, and the database provides a good starting point for conducting research, especially for subjects that are interdisciplinary in scope. For comprehensive coverage of specific disciplines, you will want to search specialized databases described elsewhere in this list.

This resource is your access to WorldCat, a premier bibliographic database, as well as to a subject collection of journal literature indexes. You must be prepared to wait for interlibrary loan for materials not available in full text online or in the JSC Library collection.

The LRC is, essentially, the online counterpart of many of the well-known Gale Group of resources such as the Contemporary Authors series, Dictionary of Literary Biography, Contemporary Literary Criticism and much more. The indexing of 320 journals combines content from three H.W. Wilson databases: Applied Science & Technology, Biological & Agricultural and General Science indexes.

The VSC Library Catalog
This is the combined catalog of the holdings for Castleton State, Johnson State, Lyndon State and the Vermont Community and Technical Colleges. Over 335,000 titles include books, maps, government documents, audiovisual materials, and other nonprint items. Members of the VSC academic community may request interlibrary loan for items not held by the host institution.

Vermont Newspapers indexes the Burlington Free Press and the Rutland Daily Herald, with retrospective coverage to 1984. The JSC Library holds these backfiles of the papers on microfilm:
