Staci Born is an assistant professor in Department of Behavioral Sciences, teaching in the graduate counseling program and undergraduate psychology program. Most recently, she completed her doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Her dissertation was a qualitative study of infertility-related stress among women.
Staci balances her experience at Johnson State College as an educator, practitioner and researcher. As an educator, she teaches courses related to counseling children, play therapy, career counseling, research methods, counseling skills, abnormal psychology, theories of personality, and introduction to counseling. As a practitioner, Staci specializes in early childhood mental health, women’s reproductive mental health, trauma, play therapy and family counseling. Her research interests include evaluating and enhancing pedagogy in counselor education and women’s experience of infertility-related stress.
