Creative writing is the art of making things up — to convey essential truth. (“That’s what fiction is for. It’s for getting at the truth when the truth isn’t sufficient for the truth.” — Tim O’Brien)
We believe the ancient art of story is essential to who we are as humans. Part craft and part magic, poetry and fiction make us laugh and cry, confront horrors, delight in beauty. Creative writers help all of us make sense of our world and our places in it.
