Whether your first choice of college hasn’t turned out to be the right fit, you’re returning to college after some time away, or you’re looking to finish your degree after community college, Johnson State College offers several convenient options to help you continue your college career and complete your degree.
As a transfer student at JSC, you can choose to enroll full or part time, attend classes on campus or online, or continue your studies through our statewide External Degree Program (EDP), which provides extra flexibility as well as online courses and degrees, weekend classes in four Vermont communities, and compressed course formats. Regardless of the option you choose, you’ll receive one-on-one support to ensure your seamless transition to JSC and a host of opportunities to make you feel at home.
Two Options for Transfer Students
Campus-Based Option: This is the most popular choice of students who are within a few years of high school graduation and enrolling full time. As a campus-based transfer student, you’ll take classes on the JSC campus in Johnson, Vermont. Housing options include living in one of the residence halls on campus or, if you meet eligibility requirements, the College Apartments or in off-campus housing in the local community. External Degree Program (EDP) Option: EDP is our statewide, degree-completion program for students with 60 or more college credits seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree. Six majors are available statewide — by taking online courses, attending weekend classes in one of four Vermont communities, or taking a combination of online and weekend classes — or you can earn any B.A., B.S. or B.F.A. degree available at JSC if you’re able to attend class on campus in Johnson. How Credits Transfer to JSC
Credits earned for courses taken elsewhere generally transfer if they were earned at an academically accredited college or university and were passed with a grade of C- or better. All credits earned at another Vermont State College transfer. Learn more about how credits transfer to JSC.
