To understand others, to express oneself meaningfully, to discover the solution to virtually any problem: These are the types of critical skills we cultivate in the humanities department.
History majors explore the roots and culture of the Western and non-Western world. Political science majors focus on government, political theory or public administration. Liberal arts majors design an interdisciplinary program that explores a variety of fields. In addition, the study of modern languages through our department stimulates self-discovery, scholarship and an appreciation of different ways of thinking.
As a Humanities student at Johnson State College, you will learn to think and solve problems creatively, write and communicate effectively, and prepare yourself for a career with limitless possibilities.
