The Master of Fine Arts degree is a unique, 60-credit graduate degree in studio arts offered in two formats:
1) A campus-based program conducted on the Johnson State College campus. Learn more about the campus-based M.F.A.
2) A low-residency program in conjunction with the renowned Vermont Studio Center, located just beyond the JSC campus. Students in this low-residency program complete six four-week residencies at the Studio Center, where they have the sanctuary to create while connecting with a community of resident and visiting artists from throughout the world. Students in this program typically finish their studies in three to four years. Learn more about the low-residency M.F.A.
Both programs prepare serious artists ready to take the next step in their careers. They offer participants the opportunity to work with accomplished faculty and motivated peers while focusing on their work, making connections in the art world and immersing themselves in Vermont’s varied and multifaceted artistic communities.
