What's Happening This Week (March 31 - April 4)

A ground-breaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction on Stearns Hall will take place this week!

What's Happening This Week (March 17 - March 28)

  • Preparations continue in Stearns for April demolition
  • Foot traffic into Stearns will be diverted to the lower dining hall level after Spring Break in April

What's Happening This Week (March 10 - March 14)

  • For the duration of the renovation, students are encouraged and welcome to use the new 1867 Room in Dewey (formerly Dewey Soft Seating) for quiet study whenever the room isn't reserved for meetings or conferences. (JSC Conference and Event Services will post signs on the door to let you know when meetings are scheduled.)
  • Though demolition in Stearns won't begin until April 7, access to the lower levels of the building is now restricted as preparations are being made for the demolition.

What's Happening This Week (March 3 - March 7)

  • The JSC Bookstore is open in its new location — finishing touches are still in progress, but the store is keeping its regular hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • The Office of Public Safety is now in its temporary location next to the SGA Office in Dewey.
  • The 1867 Room has been relocated to what was Dewey Soft Seating. Please Note: For the duration of the renovation project, students are welcome to use the 1867 Room for quiet study whenever the room is not reserved for meetings or conferences.
  • Evening performances and other events (formerly known as Baselodge events) will take place in the old Dewey Soft Seating area.
  • The Mail Room is now (temporarily) located in SHAPE.
  • Subcontractors for the Stearns demolition and renovation will be selected within the next few weeks.
  • Demolition on Stearns will begin on April 7, 2008.
