What's Happening Now
- DEW Construction continues to make excellent progress on the renovations to Stearns Hall.
- Demolition of all areas is complete and substantial progress has been made on framing in the new spaces. While still in skeleton form, it is becoming easier to see — with some imagination — how the building will look when renovations are complete.
- On the first floor, the new movie viewing space is taking shape, with the curved walls and space for the movie screen already created.
- On the second floor, the new event/club space is beginning to take shape. You can see the location of the new stage, and the new "Late Nite" dining venue.
- The third and fourth floors have seen the most dramatic changes thus far, with the new elevator shaft, and servery spaces on the third floor and a new open floor plan on the fourth floor.
- We are planning for opening of the dining room on August 22!
- The next two months will be very busy for the entire construction team.
- Please remember, all visitors to the Stearns site must register with the construction office on the north side of Stearns Hall. Hard hats and other protective gear must be worn at all times. Please use the stairs to the east of Governors to access the lower parking lots when possible.
