Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Economics or closely related field is required at the time of appointment, although advanced graduate students may receive consideration.
  • Teaching experience as well as a passion for teaching and for guiding student research, and also possess skills in leadership, collaboration, and problem solving.
  • Strong institutional commitment to diversity in all areas and strongly encourages candidates from underrepresented groups.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Teach core undergraduate courses in business and economics, with the ability to incorporate real world projects into classes.  
  • Carry out research appropriate to the field, and help the department enter an emerging culture of undergraduate research at JSC.
  • Guide field research at the local level will be particularly appealing. 
  • Teach other, appropriate undergraduate courses; participating through teaching and advising in a college wide commitment to early and on-going student success.
  • Assume the duties of a full-time faculty member for both the Business and Economics Department and Johnson State College.
