    • MFA in creative writing, or a Ph.D. in literature, with a creative dissertation
    • Excellent teaching skills and commitment to the undergraduate education of creative writing majors and to non-majors enrolled in General Education courses offered through the department. 
    • Experience in writing fiction with significant publications as well as experience in digital magazine editing and publication(s).
    • Interest and experience in expository writing instruction and assessment are desirable.


Examples of Work Performed:

  • Teach four courses per semester, including introductory courses in composition and creative writing as well as upper-level fiction workshops, fiction-writing form and theory, digital publishing, and courses in literature, depending on departmental needs.
  • Additional expectations include academic advising, continued scholarship and professional development, and participation through teaching and service in a college-wide commitment to early and ongoing student success.
