Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in education, experience teaching in public schools at the elementary level, expertise teaching at the college level or with adult learners, and demonstrated leadership ability. 
  • Skills in collaboration, problem solving, and resource management.
  • A commitment to constructivist philosophy, diversity, and inclusive practices is also expected.

 

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Help guide a teacher education program that integrates elementary and special education curricula.
  • Assist in developing international opportunities and/or experience directing education programs for students with disabilities.
  • Teach teacher education courses at the undergraduate level.
  • Assess diversity in education courses and experiences and the development of specific strategies and recommendations to promote diversity.
  • Stay abreast of state teacher licensure regulations.
  • Supervise student teachers.
  • Review licensure portfolios.
  • Advise teacher education student.
  • Advance a college-wide commitment to early and on-going student success.
  • Assume the duties of a full-time faculty member for both the Education Department and the College.
