" I transferred to Johnson State because I knew JSC would offer me the chance to work more closely with my professors on my writing and because of the internship opportunities for writing majors available on the Gihon River Review and Green Mountains Review literary magazines. "

I transferred to Johnson State because I knew JSC would offer me the chance to work more closely with my professors on my writing and because of the internship opportunities for writing majors available on the Gihon River Review and Green Mountains Review literary magazines. My professors have been consistently willing to sit down with me, one on one, and talk about my work.

I’ve also been able to pursue service learning at JSC by taking part in the Break Away alternative break program. Last year I traveled with a group to Brooklyn, NY, where we spent a week working with the New York AIDS Housing Network. Among the various projects we assisted with was providing reading materials for prisoners.

This year, I traveled to New Orleans with Break Away to take part in disaster relief work there. I expect to use all of these experiences in my writing in the future.
