SHAPE, Recreation & Intramurals
Johnson State College students are an active group. Whether playing on one of the college's varsity or intramural teams, taking advantage of the incredible hiking, snowboarding, and other outdoor opportunities on campus and nearby or working up a sweat in the newly renovated SHAPE athletic and fitness facility there are countless opportunities to keep moving!
All students and community members have access to SHAPE, a 7,000-square-foot multi-use facility, home to exercise classes and equipment, a 25-yard swimming pool, a bouldering wall, and more! And you'll have a great time exploring the campus’s eight miles of cross-country trails, snowboard park and 18-hole Frisbee-golf course.
We also offer intramural and recreation activities for students, faculty and staff, including seasonal leagues (i.e., indoor soccer, basketball and floor hockey), and one-day events like hikes and tournaments. Most activities are co-ed and all are designed to be fun and competitive to ensure you have a great time.
