What to Bring
Your dorm room is your on-campus home during the school year, and we want to make sure that you feel comfortable in it. Here is a list of items you might want to bring with you to JSC (and a list of things that, for safety and out of consideration for others, we ask you to not bring) to help make your residence your own!
What Should I Bring?
- Bed linens
- Study lamp
- Wastebasket
- Telephone
- Area or throw rugs (all rooms are tile)
- Alarm clock
- Stereo
- Plants
- Mini-refrigerator (no more than 90 lbs)
- Microwave (no more than 600 watts)
What Should I Leave At Home?
- Pets (other than a fish in a five-gallon tank)
- Firearms or weapons
- Indoor or outdoor grills
- Candles/incense
- Toaster oven
- Box fan or window fan
- Flammable items
- Air conditioner
What Will I Find In My Residence Hall Room?
- Twin size bed (mattress measured at 36 x 80)
- Wardrobe closets
- Desk and Chair
- Internet
- Dressers
- Voicemail for each room resident
- Bookself or bookcase
- Curtains or blinds
What Will I Find In My Residence Hall Building?
- Public lounges
- Recreational space
- Laundry facilities (coin operated)
- Vending machines
- Limited kitchen facilities
