Wellness Opportunities

JSC counselors facilitate groups each semester to help students grow and learn skills for coping with stress and other factors in every day life. Groups meet in the Counseling Center in Senators South unless otherwise noted.

The Bod Squad: Women's Body Image Support Group

  • Discuss society's messages about beauty
  • Explore self-criticism and learn to change your thinking
  • Learn ways to develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise
  • Celebrate your body!

Meetings will be held Mondays from 2:30-4 p.m. beginning after the February 2012 break.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Group

Feeling stressed out? Overwhelmed? Learn to:

  • Manage stress better
  • Increase your connection to yourself and the outside environment
  • Decrease anxiety and depression
  • Give you greater quality sleep
  • Give you better physical health

Group meets Thursdays, 2-2:50 p.m. starting February 9 in the Counseling Center.
