A Strong Community
Johnson State College has unique and challenging academic programs, a gorgeous campus and a long, proud history. However, one of the first things students and their families notice about JSC is our strong sense of community. Students forge deep and lasting relationships with each other, in class, in the residence halls and through clubs, teams and other activities. Small classes and numerous work-study opportunities allow students to get to know JSC faculty and staff personally, too.
A Safe Community
Not only does this sense of community make it easy to feel comfortable here, but it also makes campus a more secure place. When people know each other, they watch out for each other. That's one reason why, in a recent survey, JSC students universally agreed they feel safe here.
A Supportive Community
If students do encounter some difficulties along the way, help is close at hand. The First Year Experience program eases the transition from high school to college. Public safety officers are on duty around the clock, seven days a week. Tutors at our Learning Center are always ready to assist with academic questions. And medical professionals at the JSC Health Center promote the mental and physical well-being of our whole community.
And Families are a Part of Our Community, Too!
As a JSC family, you also are part of our community. Tours, open houses and other campus events provide opportunities for you to learn more about the school. And Family Weekend, an event held each fall, is a great way to spend time on campus with your son or daughter at one of the most beautiful times of the year in Vermont.
