Residential Life and Housing Information
The mission of the Residence Life staff is to provide a residential environment that is safe, welcoming, and conducive to academic success. Residential living is integral to a student's personal and academic development. Recent research suggests that students who live on campus get higher grades, stay in school, and graduate sooner than their peers who do not.
Each building has a professional staff or graduate assistant supervisor who lives in and oversees a team of undergraduate Resident Assistants. These staff are trained to help students negotiate the balance between the freedom of living away from home and the responsibility of living in a community of peers. They plan activities and events, offer knowledge of campus culture, and can be a valuable resource for students.
All students are required to live on campus for the first two years. Many choose to continue living in after they are no longer required to.
