The JSC Health Center offers a variety of health services for students.
All full-time matriculating undergraduates may access the JSC Health Center for consultation, exams and treatment for episodic health concerns as long as their Vermont State College Health Form has been cleared. (A health form must be on file in the Health Center before a student can be treated. Students must also have immunization records updated and on file at the Health Center.)
The Health Center provides consultations and treatment for:
- health concerns
- sport physicals
- physical exams for contraceptives
- health education and on-campus workshops
- physical exams for academic requirements
- consultation and/or referral for complex problems or concerns
- allergy shots
- flu shots
- laboratory tests
- senior health review
The Health Center is a user-friendly and a cost-effective option for episodic, comprehensive and preventive health care. If you belong to a managed health plan, please get a referral from your primary doctor. Bring your health insurance card with you when you come to the Health Center.
Students with serious illness or accidents are cared for at Copley Hospital, 10 miles away in Morrisville, or at the Fletcher Allen Medical Center Hospital in Burlington. Ambulance service is available in emergencies. Low-cost health and accident insurance for students is available to cover medical and hospital costs. Participation in the plan is required of all full-time undergraduate students unless the student is covered by a family or personal policy; in the latter case, a form showing the student's policy number and insurance company must be filed with the Business Office.
