First Year Advising
Solid academic advising provides the information and facts your student needs to assist him or her in making good decisions about academic options and choices.
Please advise your son or daughter to take time to read the information in the Student Academic Advising Folder, which he or she will receive upon check-in at New Student Registration.
All new JSC students will be assigned an academic advisor. If your student has declared a major, he or she will be assigned a faculty advisor from that academic department. Students who have not yet declared a major will be assigned a faculty or staff advisor specifically trained to assist students in exploring their options.
