What Can I Do With a Health Sciences Major?
Description of the Major
The health science major is designed for students wishing to pursue careers in health, fitness, and physical education. The program trains students in the basic sciences including biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology; assessment of health status; the disease process; health, fitness, and physical education; and cardiac and pulmonary assessment and rehabilitation. The health sciences program prepares students for a wide variety of career options and with the current increases in lifestyle related disease and the growing elderly population, health sciences students will be poised to take advantage of new prospects in the health field.
