Hal Colston to Speak at JSC
Johnson State College Department of Business and Economics presents a discussion with Hal Colston, Executive Director of Neighborkeepers, Inc. on Tuesday April 15, 2008 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Bentley Hall Room 207.
Colston, an extraordinary social entrepreneurial leader, founded the Good News Garage and NeighborKeepers, Inc., a non-profit, anti-poverty organization in Burlington, Vermont that has adopted the "Circles of Support" national program.
The NeighborKeepers Circle of Support Program is a high-impact strategy whose focus is the engagement of the greater community in relationship with families who have a need to increase resources. Participants (community members) and volunteers (allies) work together to eliminate barriers to success in a supportive environment, investing in the transformative power of positive social networks to build an inclusive community where patterns of isolation and dependence are broken down.
Plan on attending to hear this visionary community leader tell about the entrepreneurial journey from ideas and insight to engaging partners excited to join this work.
