Six paintings comprised of four panels (each) document landscapes at different days, times and locations. O'Brien writes of the work: "I want the viewer to see the beauty of the world, but, by the open grave, be reminded that our time on earth is brief and we are but vapor after all.

Marina Pacilio: MFA Thesis Exhibition

By using washes of acrylic paint, which often create unsual and unexpected patterns of pigment separation, Pacilio intends to unify both the spontaneous and the intention aspects of the paintings in her exhibit.
