Library News: February 2008
Make Me a Super Searcher
Shane Mulcahy, a JSC music education major and library student assistant, has recorded several videos detailing the research process. These brief tutorials show you the nuts and bolts of using the library's catalog and databases and will save you valuable time when you begin your projects.
Next on tap is a tutorial for using psychology information sources, and we hope to produce more videos throughout the semester. All the movies are located in Guides & Help.
Database Spotlight: Electronic Books
Our netLibrary collection of more than 6,000 electronic books has been fully integrated in the library catalog. When you locate one of these e-book titles in a catalog search, you will see a link Click to read this book online in the details screen. Many reference books such as the Encyclopedia of Modern Ethnic Conflicts are included in netLibrary.
More electronic encyclopedias are located in the Gale Virtual Reference Library, a collection of 16 titles in the social sciences and sciences.
Your MyJSC username and password is required for off-campus access to both the netLibrary and Gale Virtual Reference Library collections.
A Long Way Gone
Although our exhibit of books and videos has been dismantled, you may still download the reading list created by library staff to celebrate the first JSC Common Reading Initiative.
