The Sarah E. Lizotte Memorial Endowment
Sarah Lizotte, '02, died after a tragic automobile accident in Johnson, in August 2001. She was a graduate of Simsbury (CT) High School in 1992. She transferred to JSC in 1999 and majored in hospitality and tourism management. A student very popular with her friends and professors, she was described as “a wonderful student who always brought sunshine into the room with her big smile and bright eyes.” She was an active participant on lacrosse and swim teams and was on the Dean's List. Sarah loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, cycling, kayaking, and spending time with her family. Sarah was with the group of students who traveled with Prof. Norm McElvany to Ireland in the summer of 2001. In her memory, family and friends established this endowment to fund a scholarship for a Hospitality and Tourism Management student.
The Sarah Lizotte Memorial HTM Scholarship goes to an outstanding student studying hospitality and tourism management, who shares Sarah’s interest and career goals.
