Legislative Breakfast, College-Town Forum Coming Up

By Stephen Mills

Johnson State College will hold its annual College-Town Forum in association with the second Breakfast with Your Legislators event Monday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Both events will be held in Base Lodge in Stearns Hall. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The event provides an opportunity for community members to hear President Barbara E. Murphy’s annual report on the state of the college, and a chance for Lamoille County legislators to take questions and comments from the public on the current legislative session. Ed Stahl of the Stowe Area Association will be the moderator.

The events are sponsored and organized by the Lamoille Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Lamoille County Planning Commission, Lamoille Economic Development Corporation, and Stowe Area Association.
The first Lamoille County legislative breakfast was held at the Senior Center in Morrisville in January. The third one will be in the town hall at Lake Elmore on March 17. The fourth breakfast will be held at the Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe on April 14. All breakfasts begin at 7:30 a.m.
