JOHNSON, Vt. (March 10, 2009)

 

Johnson State College has named Mark Kaufman Head Coach of the new women’s volleyball program that will be opening its inaugural season in the fall semester of 2009.  Kaufman joins the Johnson State athletics department after one season as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Norwich University, a season in which the Cadets finished 16-9 overall.

 

"I hope to expand the tradition of academic and athletic excellence at Johnson State," said Coach Kaufman.  "I am very excited to head a new program because it creates new opportunities for students to showcase their skills.  We will focus on conditioning and developing skills sets and work hard until those skills are ingrained."

Johnson State will add women’s volleyball, along with men’s golf, in the fall to give the institution 12 varsity athletic offerings joining men’s and women’s basketball, cross country, soccer, and tennis, men’s lacrosse, and softball.
