2009 NCAA DIII New England Cross Country Regionals

CUMBERLAND, Maine - Johnson State College completed their season on Saturday by running in the 2009 NCAA Division III Cross Country New England Regionals.  The race was held at Twin Brooks Recreation Center in Cumberland, Maine and featured nearly 50 teams on both the women's and men's side.

 

On the women's side the Lady Badgers came in 47th place and was paced by Colleen McNamara (Cavendish, Vt./Green Mountain) who ran the 5K course in a time of 28:05.7 and came in 265th place.  The team championship was split by Middlebury College and MIT with cumulative scores of 63.  MIT's Jackie Wentz was the top individual finisher in a time of 21:35.7.

 

The men came in 43rd place and was led by freshman Corey Hellwig (Vernon, N.J./Wallkill) who came in 201st place with a time of 29:08.7 on the 8K course.  Williams College took the team championship with a score of 53 with the Eph's Edgar Kosgey taking top individual time of 25:16.2.
