Mariners Sink Johnson State
Sara Dolan scored a career-high 17 points and 11 rebounds in the Badgers 67-58 loss to MMA on Saturday

Maine Maritime Academy improved to 8-2 in conference play with the 67-58 victory over the Badgers of Johnson State College. MMA held a 15-point half time lead (35-20) and held off a late comeback by Johnson State to secure the nine-point win. The Lady Mariners forced 30 turnovers and out-rebounded the Badgers 46-30. The Lady Mariners had 11 players score in the victory.
Johnson State was led by Sarah Dolan (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) who scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss. Casey Rusin (Wilmington, Vt./Wilmington) also played well scoring 13 points while Jenna Lewis (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury) added 10.
The Lady Mariners were led by freshmen forward Amethyst Cousins (Bass Harbor, Maine) who scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Megan Franklin (Skowhegan, Maine) played well scoring 8 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.
The Badgers fall to 9-12 (5-6) and will be back in action on February 15th when they host Becker College. With the win the Maine Maritime improves to 13-8 (8-2) and will be back in action February 15th when they travel to Bay Path College for a 7:30pm start.
