Martineau, Lewis Earn All-NAC Recognition

NAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced


Husson's Shelby Bradford was selected as the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the league's coaches. The junior forward, recently named a District 1 College Division Academic All-American, pulled down a league leading 12.7 rebounds and scored 16.6 points as Husson earned the top seed in the upcoming NAC Women's Basketball tournament. Bradford was one of three women to repeat as first team all-conference selections.


University of Maine-Farmington junior forward Caitlyn Laflin earned her third consecutive all-conference honor. Laflin, the 2007-08 NAC Player of the Year and 2006-07 NAC Rookie of the Year, led the league in scoring averaging 19.0 points along with 8.4 rebounds while shooting over 50% from the floor and nearly 86% from the free throw line.


Castleton senior guard Jessica Banks also makes her third appearance on the all-conference team. Banks, who received second-team honors as a sophomore in 2006-07 and was a first-team selection a year ago, knocked down 39.0% from behind the arc making over two treys per conference contest while averaging 12.9 points per game.


Husson first year forward Bree Hanscom was a first team all-conference selection as well as the NAC Rookie of the Year. Hanscom led the conference shooting 51.1% from the field scoring and led all first year players averaging 13.8 points during conference play.


Maine Maritime sophomore Tatum Welch completes the all-conference first team. Welch, the 2007-08 NAC Rookie of the Year, averaged 17.1 points and 11.1 rebounds in conference play. The sophomore was ranked in the top 5 in field goals made, free throws made, rebounds, steals and blocks.


Kissy Walker was honored as NAC Coach of the Year. NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting.
