UMF Cruises By Johnson State
JOHNSON, Vt. (April 25, 2008) - Johnson State College dropped a pair of North Atlantic Conference softball games to visiting University of Maine-Farmington on Friday by the scores of 19-3 in five innings and 13-4 in five innings. The losses push the Badgers to 0-26 overall and 0-16 in the NAC.
GAME 1: UMF 19, JSC 3
A 13-run second inning doomed Johnson State as UMF laced 19 hits on the day including a 3-for-4 effort from designated hitter Bre Conners. Conners scored twice and drove in a pair in the win.
Emily Sullivan (Fr., Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) had a two-run single for the Badgers.
Jessica Timmreck pitched five inning for the win striking out seven, walking two, allowing four hits and three earned runs. Julie Gervais (So., Enosburg Falls, Vt./Enosburg) pitched four innings for JSC to get the loss.
GAME 2: UMF 13, JSC 4
Kasey McPhail scored four times, drove in two runs, and went 3-for-4 with a stolen base to propel the Beavers to the sweep. Ashley Allegrini (Fr., Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich) drove in a pair of runs for Johnson State.
