GMC Takes Two From Johnson State

GAME 1: GMC 13, JSC 2
Green Mountain catcher Amanda Malkin drove in five runs to lead the Eagles to a 13-2 win in the first game of the day's doubleheader.
Emily Sullivan (Fr., Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle), Allie Cunningham (Jr., Manchester, N.H./Central), and Lori Badolato (Fr., Exeter, N.H./Exeter) eached hit singles for Johnson State.
Julie Gervais (So., Enosburg Falls, Vt./Enosburg) pitched three 1/3 innings for JSC to get the loss. Gervais allowed 10 hits and seven earned runs while striking out a pair.
GAME 2: GMC 21, JSC 13
Johnson State scored a season-high 13 runs but was not enough as Green Mountain pounded out 22 hits on their way to a 21-13 win and sweep of the doubleheader.
Badolato went 3-for-5 including two doubles with two RBI and two runs scored. Gervais, Heidi Bellemore (Jr., Lowell, Mass./Lowell), and Erin Glock (So., South Woodstock, Vt./Windsor) each scored two runs in the game.
Gervais was tagged with the pitching loss going seven innings and allowing the 22 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out three.
Johnson State will host Maine-Farmington on Friday at 1 pm in their next contest.
