Brittany Lumsden Named NAC Rookie of the Week
North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week Brittany Lumsden
JOHNSON, Vt. (April 13, 2009)
Johnson State freshman softball standout Brittany Lumsden (Hardwick, Vt./Hazen Union) has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week. Lumsden, a catcher and centerfielder, has sparked JSC to a 5-4 start, the team's best start since 2003-04.
Lumsden, a Art Education major, hit .462 (6-for-13) in a 2-2 week for Johnson State. Lumsden scored four times and added an RBI and stealing three bases. Lumsden's week was highlighted by a 4-for-4, three runs scored performance in a 6-5 loss to Green Mountain.
Current teammate Morgan Rogerson (Hardwick, Vt./Hazen Union), also a teammate in high school at Hazen Union, won the award last week for Johnson State.
Lumsden, Rogerson, and the rest of the Badgers will look to continue their fine start on Tuesday when they travel to Skidmore College for a non-conference doubleheader starting at 3:30 pm.
