Men's Tennis Runner's Up at 2008 NAC Championships

WATERVILLE, Maine (April 26 & 27) - Johnson State College took three of the nine possible flight championships en route to a runner-up finish in the 2008 North Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Championships at Thomas College.
The Badgers earned 16.5 points for the second place finish to Castleton State College who finished with a team total of 20 points. Thomas College and Becker College tied for third place with 13 team points while Wheelock College finished in fifth with 6 points and Lesley was sixth with 3.5 points.
Jarryd Audette (Fr., Underhill, Vt./Mount Mansfield Union) defeated Jesse Maranda of Castleton State to earn the #2 singles flight title for the Badgers. Audette had a outstanding freshman season going 12-2 overall.
Pat Kantlehner (Sr., Somerville, Mass./Somerville) beat Ted Panasci of Castleton State in the #5 singles flight championship to complete an undefeated singles season at 13-0.
Mike Fink (Sr., Manchester, Conn./Manchester) fell in the #4 singles title match to Jeremy Henderson of Castleton State to finish as the runner-up.

In the doubles portion of the tournament Cameron MacDonald (Sr., Roanoke, Va./Manheim Township) and Justin Kutler (So., South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) teamed up with win the #3 doubles flight champship for the Badgers. The duo defeated Jamie Cook and Dan Piliero of Castleton State to take the title.
Fink and Kantlehner finished as the runners-up at the #2 doubles flight falling to their Castleton State opponents Panasci and Justin Garritt.
