Badgers Suffer First Loss

Johnson State College lacrosse suffered its first loss of the season to Thomas College on Saturday going down to the Terriers 12-7 in a game played at Green Mountain College due to snow covered fields at Johnson State College.
The game was back and forth throughout the first half with the scored tied at three after the first period and then tied again at five at halftime.
The Terriers (3-3, 2-2 NAC) would outscore the Badgers 4-1 in the third period and 3-1 in the fourth to pull away and earn the big North Atlantic Conference win.
Erik Tillberg (So., Randolph, Vt./Randolph) scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others for Johnson State (3-1, 3-1 NAC). Matt Riani (Jr., Jericho, Vt./Mount Mansfield Union) added a goal and two assists while Billy Noyes (So., Boston, Mass./Northeast Metro Tech) had a goal and assist. Kegan Pettit (Sr., South Freeport, Maine/Freeport), Steve Noyes (So., Barre, Vt./Spaulding), and Mike Murphy (So., Woodstock, Vt./Woodstock) each tallied a goal while Jason Dubie (Fr., South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) recorded an assist.
Thomas' Kolby Peckham tallied four goals and had an assist while Luke Collier netted three goals to pace the Terrier offense.
Andy Lane (Jr., Charlotte, Vt./Champlain Valley Union) made his first career start in goal for Johnson State making five saves and providing a good effort.
Josh Collelo made 10 stops for Thomas to earn the win.
Johnson State will travel to Castleton State on Wednesday for a 4:00 pm face-off in their next contest.
