Johnson Lax Downs Husson 13-7

The Johnson State Badgers jumped out to a 6-2 lead after one quarter of play, to coast to a 13-7 win over the Husson University Eagles.  With the win Johnson State improves to 1-1, while the Eagles fall to 2-2.  Johnson State now has a 1-1 NAC record and Husson University has a 1-1 NAC record.

 

The Badgers were led by Erik Tillberg (Randolph, Vt./Randolph) who scored a game-high seven goals.  Billy Noyes (Boston, Mass./Northeast Regional) recorded three goals and four assists, while Casey Riley (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk), Steve Noyes (Barre, Vt./Spaulding) and Matt Riani (Jericho, Vt./Mount Mansfield Union) each had a goal.  Branden Sawyer (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich) made 11 saves for his first collegiate win.

 

The Eagles were led by Ben Landry who had three goals and one assist.  Anthony Diaz recorded two goals and one assist.  Nick Brown chipped in with one goal and one assist.  Matt Linnell made 15 saves on 40 shots.

 

Johnson will host in-state rival Lyndon State on Wednesday, April 1 at 4:00 pm in their next contest.
