JSC Falls To Castleton

Castleton senior point guard Richard Reilly (Manassas, Va.) scored 19 points, dished out 10 assists and hauled in 9 rebounds to lead the Spartans to a 93-82 victory over Johnson State in North Atlantic Conference action.
Castleton shot 47.3% from the field for the game, including 11 three-pointers, and held a 46-33 lead at halftime.
Johnson State’s Charlie Viana (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream South) kept the 9-16 (4-9 NAC) Badgers in the game netting 18 of his game-high 28 points in the second half. Bobby Shedd (Johnson, Vt./Lamoille Union) joined Viana in double-figures with 23 points, while Chris Lamica (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) chipped in 10 points and five assists.
The 15-10 (8-5 NAC) Spartans proved to have too much firepower however as Josh Howe (Randolph, Vt.) and Chris Young (Narragansett, R.I.) each turned in double-double performances.
Howe scored a team-high 25 points and hauled in 11 rebounds, while Young scored 21 and grabbed 12 for his sixth-straight double-double. Joey Farley (Fairlee, Vt.) rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12.
Both teams await the final pairings for the upcoming North Atlantic Conference tournament, scheduled to tip-off with quarterfinal action Tuesday, February 26.
