Two-time NAC Rookie of the Week Ryan Joy

Johnson State freshman Ryan Joy (North Montpelier, Vt./Union 32) has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.

 

Joy had a 2-0 week in singles play and 1-1 in doubles action in a 1-2 week for Johnson State. Joy's week was highlighted by helping the Badgers to their first team win of the season by winning his singles match 6-2, 6-4 over his GMC opponent and then teaming with Kyle Young for an 8-2 double win.

 

An Environmental Science major, Joy was also a standout on the JSC men's soccer team in the fall.

 

Joy and Johnson State will take to the courts again on Wednesday, April 22nd when they host Castleton State College at 4:00 pm, their last match as they prepare for the NAC Tournament this weekend in Rutland, Vt.
