Lafrenz returns to JSC, joins Badger coaching staff

Former Johnson State soccer standout Andrew Lafrenz will return to Johnson State in 2008 and will assist his former Coach Brian Buczek with both the women's and men's soccer teams.

 

Lafrenz, a three-year lettermen for the Johnson State soccer team, graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Arts/English.  Since his graduation Lafrenz has worked as the Communications/Public Relations Manager at Sugarbush Resort in addition to owning and operating NBS Productions representing the musical group Named By Strangers.

 

"Johnson has been a home to me for years.  I loved it here as a player and feel honored to be working under Coach Buczek," stated Lafrenz.  "I will have the unique and rare opportunity to work with both the men's and women's soccer team which is very exciting."

 

Lafrenz was the University of Vermont women's club soccer team Head Coach for the last five fall seasons and also the Head Coach of the boys junior varsity at Harwood Union High School from 2002-2004.

 

Lafrenz will look to further his education at Boston University next fall where he will pursue a master's degree in Coaching/Sports Psychology.

 

Johnson State and Coach Lafrenz will open their soccer pre-season on Monday, August 18 with the arrival of about 50 men's and women's soccer hopefuls. 

 

The Badgers women's team will open their season with a home match against Plattsburgh State on Sunday, August 31 at 1:00 pm while the men will play their first match on Sunday, September 7 at Lesley University at 2:00 pm.
