Men's Varsity Soccer Coaching Staff
Head Coach Brian Buczek
Brian Buczek returned to Johnson State College in 2006. Coach Buczek was named Mayflower Coach of the Year twice during his first stint at JSC and led the Badgers to a pair of Mayflower Conference Championship games.
Buczek returned to JSC after spending two seasons at Middlebury College as the Assistant Coach. While at Middlebury, Buczek helped the Panthers to 22 victories and to a trip to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships in 2004.
Coach Buczek was a standout as a player at Johnson State in the early 90's and at Paul Smith's College prior to coming to JSC where he was team captain and a NJCAA All-State selection in 1992. Coach Buczek help lead the Badgers to a pair of Mayflower Conference Championships in his two-year stint as a Badgers student-athlete and was team captain in 1994 and was selected to the Mayflower Conference All-Star Team.
In addition Brian has served as the Director of Olympic Development for the State of Vermont and has coached or been apart of the selection committee with ODP for 10 years. Brian coached four Vermont state champion club teams for the Nordic spirit from 1999-2002 in both genders u-17 boys twice and u-12, u-13 and u-14 girls. Brian is also currently the Director of Soccer at Windridge Tennis Camp in roxbury Vermont.
Buczek is married, has two children, and lives in Stowe, Vermont.

Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach Ray Campanile
Ray Campanile comes back to Johnson State after spending three seasons as the men’s soccer Head Coach at Green Mountain College where he also served as the Sports Information Director, Compliance Coordinator, and Director of Athletics. In three seasons from 2005-2007, Campanile compiled a 21-37-1 record.
Prior to coaching at GMC, Campanile served as the Head Coach at Harwood Union High School from 2001-2004. Campanile garnered the Metro Division Coach of the Year honors in 2002 and 2004.
Campanile also played his final Collegiate season at Johnson in 1998, serving as captain, and led the Badgers to the Conference Finals being named to the All-Conference First Team in 1998. Ray also played at the University of New Hampshire and at the Derryfield School in Manchester, NH where he won four consecutive State Championships and was named the New Hampshire High School Player of the Year in 1991.
Holding an NSCAA Premier Coaching Diploma, Campanile currently serves Vermont ODP as the Head Coach of the ‘92/’93 age group. He resides in Johnson, VT with his wife and three children.
