Walter Minaert Memorial JSC Athletic Golf Tournament
The Walter Minaert Memorial JSC Athletic Golf Tournament honors the memory of former athletic director Walter "Doc" Minaert. Hired by JSC in 1947, Minaert was the college's first teacher of health and physical education, and was a driving force behind the expansion of the college's athletic facilities and the athletic program in general. He served as the college's athletic director from 1948 until 1976.
The 2009 Tournament
JSC alumni and friends gathered for a day on the links when the JSC Alumni Council hosted the 26th Annual Minaert Open on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at The Links at Lang Farm in Essex.
