Welcome, New Students!
We're so excited you're joining the JSC community. We have created this Web site to help walk you through the steps of becoming a JSC student. Following the checklist below will help ensure a smooth transition to life as a Johnson State College student.
2009 FALL ENROLLMENT CHECKLIST
You've applied, been accepted, and paid your deposit...
now what?
Activate your JSC network account. This will give you access to JSC e-mail, Blackboard and Web Services, and to the collegewide network when you're on campus. JSC e-mail is the college's primary means of communication with students, so please activate your account right away. Click here to learn how.
Sign up for Classes. All incoming students must register for and attend a New Student Registration session during the summer where you will register for your fall classes. (Sessions will be held on 6/19, 7/10, 7/24 and 8/7.) Sign up as soon as possible to get an ideal schedule and enroll in the classes that interest you most. Click here to learn more and register.
Download and Submit a Student Health Form. Vermont state law requires students to be up-to-date with immunizations prior to the start of the semester. JSC will not immediately assign housing to any student whose Student Health Form and immunization records have not been completed and submitted. Click here for more information and to download the form.
Submit Your Housing Contract. Housing assignments are made based on the date the housing contract is received in the Residence Life Office. Therefore, complete and submit your online contract as soon as possible. Please note: Students who have not completed and submitted the Student Health Form and immunization records will not immediately receive a housing assignment. Download and Submit an Information Release Form. Let us know who you want to have access to your educational records. Download and complete the Student Information Release Form. Click here to learn more and to download the form.
(For Transfer Students Only) Submit your Transcripts. Be sure to get final transcripts from any colleges you have attended previous to enrolling at JSC. These transcripts should be sent directly to the Admissions Office.
Get Info About Financial Aid. Whether you’ve received an award letter, just applied, or still need to apply for aid, you can do what you need to online. Click here to learn more.
Complete and Submit a TRIO Application. Becoming involved in TRIO will give you priority access to all the services provided by the Academic Support Services Office and more. Click here to learn more and download and application.
Complete and Submit a Disability Disclosure Form. If you are a student with a disability and would like to access or learn more about accommodations, click here.
View and Pay Your Bill. You will receive a preliminary bill in June. Once you have registered for classes at one of our summer New Student Registration Sessions, you will be able to view and pay your billing statement online with your username and password. Final payment is due August 1, 2009. Click here to learn more and view estimated statements.
Save the Date for Orientation Weekend. Orientation Weekend takes place Friday, August 21 - Sunday, August 23, 2009. Classes start Monday, August 24! We'll post information and schedules soon. Click here to learn more about the event and view images from last year's orientation.
