2013-2014 Scholarships for First-Year and Transfer Students
How to Apply for New Student Scholarships at JSC
In an effort to make college as affordable as possible, Johnson State College is pleased to offer a number of scholarship opportunities. First-year and transfer students who wish to be considered for a scholarship must be accepted by March 1, 2013, and be planning to enroll full time (12 or more credits/semester) in both fall 2013 and spring 2014. Applicants interested in scholarships based on financial need should file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after January 1, 2013 -- preferably using final federal tax information, although estimates can be used if needed in order to meet our March 1 deadline.
Decisions are based on information in students' admissions files; no separate application is required unless a student is applying for the START Scholarship. In awarding scholarships, JSC considers a student's academic preparation as reflected by transcripts, courses taken and letters of recommendation as well as the admissions essay. Some scholarships consider additional criteria as noted below. Students selected to receive scholarships will be notified in writing.
