Minor in Dance/Licensure in Dance
As a dance student, you will study a variety of techniques and styles, including ballet, modern dance, jazz, historical dance and improvisation. Advanced students may become members of the college's dance company, the Johnson State Ensemble. Apprenticeships are available in one of the college's two resident companies, the Vermont Dance Collective and the Maris Wolff Solo Dance Repertory.
Dance Minor
The minor in dance exposes students to the vital aspects of the art as performers, creators and observers. Courses provide students with a conceptual, historical and technical background. Advanced students may become members of the Johnson Dance Ensemble, our student dance company, or may have the opportunity to become an apprentice in the Vermont Dance Collective.
Requirements for the dance minor are listed in the Undergraduate Catalog.
Licensure in Dance
Dance is a minor at Johnson State College; to graduate, students must complete a major. To be licensed in dance, students must successfully complete Praxis I, and complete the requirements outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog.
