Flexible Learning Options

As an External Degree Program (EDP) participant, you have many ways of earning credits. Students can choose from these options to suit their schedules and other needs.

Saturday or Sunday Courses

These courses consist of four all-day Saturday or Sunday meetings, usually spaced three or four weeks apart, held at various sites around the state. Locations include Burlington, Montpelier, St. Albans, Rutland, White River Junction and others. Substantial work is required between class meetings.

Online Courses

Students work with a faculty member and other students in highly interactive courses that take place entirely online or combine weekend meetings with study online.

On-Campus Courses

EDP participants may enroll in the regular weekday and evening classes at Johnson State College.

Other Institutions

EDP students may register for daytime, evening or online courses offered by other colleges convenient to their homes.

Credit for Life Experience

Credit for Life Experience is available through the Vermont State Colleges' Assessment of Prior Learning program.
