Licensure Programs
There are a number of licensure options available for Johnson State College graduates. For current details and program requirements, see the Undergraduate Course Catalogue.
K-6 Licensure
The Bachelor of Arts in elementary education leads to licensure for grades K-6. Degree requirements for the B. A. include a second major (or concentration) in a liberal arts discipline.
Middle Grades (5-8) Licensure
A middle grades (5-8) licensure program is available for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Secondary and Elementary Licensure
Licensure programs for both secondary and elementary teaching are available to JSC liberal arts graduates.
Students must obtain a bachelor's degree in one of the liberal arts disciplines, and may pursue in the following areas:
- Elementary (grades K-6)
- Middle Level (grades 5-8)
- Secondary Level (grades 7-12)
- Dance
- English
- Life Science
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Social Studies
- Theater Arts
- Art (K-6, 7-12, K-12)
- Music (K-12)
- Physical Education (K-6, 7-12, K-12)
